Michelangelo (the artist) isn't known for making regular stops in the United States or in even in the state of Virginia for that matter, his artwork is usually relegated to the foreign places where they're most famous for being located like the Sistine Chapel.  This is why art aficionados will be pleased to know that some of Michelangelo's lesser known art will be appearing in the “Old Dominion”, near the Williamsburg condos like Foundation Square to be more specific.

If you live in Foundation Square, you can check out the vast collection of Michelangelo Buonarotti's artwork over at the Muscarelle Museum of Art which is located in Williamsburg's College of William and Mary.  In fact, the school is barely ten minutes away from the building when driving so you could potentially enjoy a hearty walk.

While the artwork primarily focuses on the numerous drawings, engravings and archival pages Michelangelo did, it's still a fascinating look into the early beginnings of the man famous for some of the world's most acclaimed artworks like the statue of David.  If you need something to do during a weekend from the Williamsburg condos you call home, definitely take some time to check out the exhibition.

The rich history of Williamsburg, Virginia and its strong focus on higher education have earned the city lots of acclaim and contribute heavily towards the appeal of Williamsburg condos.  Now the city faces the challenge of also becoming well known for its arts.

Although no plans are being made to erect any kind of structure dedicated to arts just yet, the Economic Development Authority and the Williamsburg City Council are working together to see just how feasible a possible arts center (to be called ArtSpace) would be in Williamsburg.  Over $12,000 has been put aside to be used towards a survey that will determine whether increased cultural activities is something residents want and will bring new revenue.   The survey is being conducted by a local real estate developer and local Williamsburg residents.

Should ArtSpace become a reality, it’s tentatively planned to be built near the College of William and Mary which should be popular.
